Different types of canvas tents have their own qualities. People make their selections based on their individual requirements.
- Standup tents: This is a distinctive and specialized system, which does not require you to erect or anchor the tent.
- Frame Tent: This tent has to be erected around a frame of poles. It has a steep roof and, therefore, is not very spacious.
- Dome Tent: This is most popular variety today, as it gives a lot of space and headroom to the campers. It's a tough structure, which can with withstand strong, windy conditions.
Two poles, crossed in the middle of the tent, hold this structure.
- Cabin Tent: Cabin tents are very big in size and heavy to carry. The poles are erected in the form of a pentagon; hence, they have a high ceiling and large floor.
- Geodesic Tent: This is an improved form of the dome tent.
The difference lies in the central erection of poles, where they cross - not once, but various times - giving the structure extra strength and stability.
These are especially beneficial in extreme weather conditions and at high altitudes.
All of these different types of canvas tents can be further modified according to your specific needs and the climate in your area.
